Tournament coming in October

Glory be, the City of Bainbridge along with a couple of good biznes men has set up at tournament for Oct. 8 & 9 with $10,000 payback for first place. Each of the two biznes men will pay $500 each day for the Big Fish.  That, if it works out will happen three times a year.

We have seen the College Fishen teams start from eight teams to 48 this past weekend. Up at Eufalla, as the Stren Series is going on out at Lake Point Resort.

Eighteen black bass taken on Wednesday, a 5-1/2 to 6 pounds and two at 5 pounds. Schoolen bass gave up six bass in 10 casts.

Huge beds of shellcrackers, two limits taken, all small hand-sizeds, 12 of those were dressed and brought to yours truly, grandson fried them up for supper.

Some deep beds of bluegill bream has been found. More and more will be found and then the cricket vendors will have to trot faster.

Rose City Bass was won by Clint Brown with 25 pounds of bass.

The Madison County Bass Club fished Saterday and half Sunday. Great group of guys come every year and fill up the cabins and motel rooms at Wingate’s.

The C&R Tournament will be held this coming Saterday out of Wingate’s Lodge.
