T’was quite as a mouse all through the house

T’was quite as a mouse, all the house Christmas Day except in my belly and it was churning up a rite sizable kidney stone at 6 a.m. I have to admit though, they do feel good when it’s over.  That one got my attention.

We were flabbergasted Friday when a call came in that one of the Hydrilla Gnat’s Fishermen and close friends had been stabbed and his partner killed by the same people. Lordy we are in a mess in this country.

It was a great Christmas at our house. Gavin Pious from Screamer, Ala., came and brought an Italian Turkey with him. He is an ex-Marine from Vietnam and retired as a light cornel. He talked to my grandson Jackson about Parris Island.

Then Walter Wingate came from Valdosta with his girlfriend, and it was a great day.

Out fishen has been very slow except for the Perch (Crappie). Crappie took off like Ludies Goose. Several catches were made but we have the pies to show you what we mean.

Sunday it snowed here in Recovery and Faceville, not bad but some. I had just not seen any more of that for awhile. Me and snow don’t mix. It’s pretty but it’s messy.

We’ve had some young men duck hunting here and let me tell you, it’s cold but they’re determined and have shot quite a few ducks. Brock Wells, Jayson Myers, Tanner Harrell to name a few. I don’t know how they can stand the cold.
