The Bainbridge High School varsity girls’ basketball team roared back from a big first-half deficit Friday night in Moultrie to edge the Colquitt County High School Lady Packers 46-45.

The BHS Lady Cats lost a close 64-60 decision to the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldogs on Saturday night in Thomasville.

On Friday night, the Lady Packers jumped out to a quick 21-3 lead.

Lady Cats coach Latreisha Moon said she was very proud of the way her team fought back against the Lady Packers.

“We were down to Colquitt County by 23 points at one time in the first half,” coach Moon said. “To come back from that kind of deficit and win is a tribute to our team’s hustle and desire.”

The Lady Cats comeback was led by Briana Wade with 13 points and RiChana Jackson with 11. April Thomas added nine. The Lady Packers were led by Maskeba Dundee, who scored 13.

In their four-point Saturday night loss to the Lady Bulldogs, the Lady Cats were led by Bria Harris with a game-high 28 points.

Anybah Brown and Kemeiuca Spencer shared scoring honors for the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points apiece.

The Lady Cats and Lady Bulldogs were to rematch on Tuesday at the Bainbridge High School Gymnasium. The Lady Cats entered the game with a 4-3 record.

“We need to step up our defense and do a better job with our press tomorrow against Thomasville,”Coach Moon said Monday.
