Former Bainbridge High School Bearcat Ray Dominguez was signed by the NFL’s Carolina Panthers on Tuesday to their practice squad.

Dominguez, who played college football at the University of Arkansas and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers last year, had been placed on injured reserve in August with an ankle injury.

As a senior at Arkansas in 2010, he started all 13 games at left tackle for a Razorbacks offense that broke 24 single game or season offensive records.

The 2010 Razorbacks were the only team in the country to have a 3,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher and a 600-yard receiver.

In Bainbridge, Dominguez played under former Bearcats head coach Greg Guy.

As a Bearcats senior in 2006, Dominguez had 51 knockdown blocks and 12 pancake blocks, while also seeing duty at tight end.

Dominguez also played on the BHS basketball team.
