The camp, which was June 24-26, was held at the country club under the leadership of 2012 LPGA Southeast Section Coach of the Year, Christa Teno.

Country club member Thad Pettyjohn organized the event on behalf of the club.

During the camp, 37 young players were instructed in their short game, full game and familiarized with the rules and etiquette of the game of golf.

“Our plans are to follow up with another camp session in six months,” Pettyjohn said. “This camp will be open to both country club members and non-members, as our club seeks to encourage a love and knowledge of the game of golf among the youth of our area.”

Assisting Teno and Pettyjohn with the camp were the following adult volunteers: Stephanie Poitevint, Connie Taylor, Yevette Greene, Kim Bowles, Charles Ingram, Branden Greene, Tucker Greene and Lee Key.

Participants in this year’s summer golf camp were Tyler Godwin, Conner Poitevint, Hines Roberts, Carson Lynn, Halie Fredrickson, John Penhallegon, Ruby Boyer, Will Barber, Chason Brock, Owen Earnest, Logan Rich, Brenden Greene, Calen Greene, Cason Priest, Carter Hathcoat, Simpson Bowles, Quayde Hawkins, Madison Wiggins, Joe Waddell, Ella Harrell, Chase Parker, Mikey Harrell, Luke Emmons, Taylor Emmons, Michael Conder, Piper Loeffler, Mark Loeffler, Garrett Cox, Jared Hiers, Miles Green, Matthew Green, Jackson Conley, Brenna Conley, Reece Conley, Lex Thompson, Ashely Darley and Reese Godby.
