A local business is doing its part to make sure that wounded U.S. soldiers can enjoy some outdoor fun on Lake Seminole.

This Saturday, United Rentals will sponsor a charity fishing tournament on Lake Seminole. The proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a not-for-profit organization that provides programs and services to U.S. service members who were injured in the line of duty.

Trey Rogers, the local sales representative for United Rentals, explained that the company holds an annual fishing tournament and provides the proceeds to a different charity each year. This year, it was decided to give the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Rogers said that some of the United Rentals staff members will also be taking the Wounded Warriors fishing throughout the weekend. The activities will culminate with Saturday’s fishing tournament.

The weigh-in is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Earle May Boat Basin, and the public is welcome to attend, Rogers said.

United Rentals acquired RSC Equipment Rental in May 2012, and RSC had previously held the fishing tournaments the last five years. Rogers said that the same personnel will continue to hold the tournament under the United Rentals name.
