The faculty and staff at Southwest Georgia Academy are proud to welcome Coach Brent Miller as the new head football coach for the upcoming Warrior football season.
Miller has worked at SGA this past school year as a physical education teacher and assistant football coach. He was born and raised in Iron City, Ga., and graduated from Seminole County High School. He attended Troy University on a football and wrestling scholarship, then later transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received his Master’s in Educational Leadership. He also attended the University of Western Montana to receive his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and History. While at the University of Western Montana, he was a part of the football, boxing and wrestling teams.
Miller has been coaching multiple sports, such as football, baseball, basketball, track, wrestling, and golf, for more than 30 years. Chamblee High, Elbert County, Barrien County, and Lanier County are just a few of the schools where he has coached. Brent moved to SGA with his wife, Linda, and their daughter, Kiley, from Lanier County, Ga.
Miller plans to work hard and prepare for success during the upcoming season.
“As the head football coach, I owe it to the community to put the best 11 players on the field that will give us the best chance of success,” Miller said.
This will be his 24th year as a head football coach and he is very excited to have this position.
“We plan to work a lot on speed, throwing the ball, and strength,” Miller said.
