Grace gets ‘Senior Night Sweep’ over Fullington

The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars and Cougars handed the visiting Fullington Academy Lady Trojans and Trojans, of Pinehurst, Ga., a pair of Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) losses Friday on senior night at Perry Memorial Gymnasium.

The Lady Cougars, who are 14-8 for the season, won 36-29, and the Cougars, who are 13-9 for the season, won 60-45.

Senior Jasmin Kelly scored nine points for the Lady Cougars and senior Bryce McQuaid scored 11 for the Cougars. Senior Phillip Bowen added nine.

Jack McRae led the way for the Cougars, with a game-high 23 points.

Emilee Murr led the Lady Cougars with 10 points. Shellby Woodrum scored eight and Kelsey Harrell contributed five. Hannah Wynn put in four.

Darion Bailey of the Lady Trojans took game scoring honors, with 15 points.

The girls game with Fullington was low scoring throughout. The Lady Cougars led just 12-9 at halftime.

Grace athletic director Steve Murr, who coaches the Cougars, said he expects his team to play well down the stretch.

The GISA Regional Tournament will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, Thursday, Feb. 14, and Friday, Feb. 15, in Valdosta, Ga.
