The Bainbridge High School Bearcats basketball team improved their overall record to 11-4, and their Region 1-AAAAA mark to 4 -1, with a 48-42 victory over the Thomas County Central High School Yellow Jackets in Thomasville on Tuesday.
They were led by Jamez Harris, with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tyree Crump scored 11 points.
“Jamez Harris really played well for us last night against Central,” Bainbridge coach Rickey McCullough said Wednesday morning. His scoring and rebounding were crucial.”
The Yellow Jackets kept it close behind the strong play of guards Chris Jones and Allen Wade, who scored 11 points apiece.
“Our region is pretty balanced and it is getting harder and harder to win on the road,” McCullough said. “You need to be on top of your game every night.”
The Bearcats returned to action Friday. They traveled to Hamilton to take on the Harris County High School Tigers in a Region 1-AAAAA game. They will host the Cairo High School Syrupmakers tonight.
They will have two Region 1-AAAAA home games next week. On Tuesday, they will host the Lee County High School Trojans, and on Friday they will host the Northside Columbus High School Patriots.
