Lady Cats split weekend games

DONALSONVILLE, Ga., and COLQUITT, Ga. — The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats split a pair of weekend road basketball games.
On Friday, they lost 66-41 to the Seminole County High School Lady Indians, in Donalsonville. On Saturday, they defeated the Miller County High School Lady Pirates, 74-50, in Colquitt.
Friday night in Donalsonville, the Lady Cats (2-7) were led by Alex Carter, with 17 points. Tameria Levens added eight and Longeisha Emanuel and Patra Parris put in six apiece.
Patrise Brown led the Lady Indians with 14.
In Saturday night’s victory over the Lady Pirates, the Lady Cats were led by Parris with 23 points. Also in double figures were Emanuel with 16, and Teena Jeffery with 10.
Molly Diamond, of the Lady Pirates, took game-scoring honors with 33.
Bainbridge coach Kelvin Cochran said he thinks his team is showing improvement.
“We played better on both ends of the court over the weekend” he said. “I was especially pleased with our winning Saturday night effort.
“We are doing a better job of moving the ball around and finding the open player.”
