Bearcats wrestlers strong in Ashburn

Coach Chad Smith’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats wrestling team placed eight of 14 wrestlers in the top four, at Friday and Saturday’s tournament at Turner County High School, in Ashburn, Ga.

The Bearcats were in first place, following Friday’s first day of competition.

On Saturday, Grayson Heard, who was wrestling in the 113-pound class, finished fourth. Hunter Long, who dropped weight to wrestle in the 132-pound class, posted a 5-2 record.

Damian Rackley finished fourth in the 145-pound weight class. Freshman Tyler Storey, who Smith says is wrestling the best on the team right now, finished fourth with a 5-2 record.

Josh Sheard, wrestling in the 170-pound class, took second place, the Bearcats’ highest finish of the day.

Brandon Crawford, competing in the 195-pound class, finished fourth. Heavyweight Andrzej Jeglinski, who weighs 238 pounds, took third.
