Gay Marine Spooner, 65, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at her residence.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Fellowship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating, and will conclude at the church. Interment will be at Cool Springs Cemetery. Gator Bryant, Bobby Hoskins, Danny Josey, Roger Whitworth, Martin Bius and Jerry Davis will serve as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the funeral service, at Fellowship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Spooner was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Oceanside, Calif., and completed high school in Richmond, Va. She owned and operated Bainbridge Truck Stop for 30 years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Rose Zwick Morris; and her brother, Phillip Floyd Morris.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Jimmy H. Spooner of Bainbridge; her daughters, Rose Marie White of Brinson, Loria LaVerne Wimberly of Bainbridge, Pamela Denise Kelley of Bainbridge, and Kimberly Nichole Allen of Brinson; her father, Floyd LaVerne Morris of Mt. Airy, N.C.; her brother, Dennis Wayne Morris of Allons, Tenn.; her sister, Mindy Large of Mt. Airy; her 10 grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
