Bearcats drop 2 weekend games

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats lost two games over the weekend, dropping their season record to 1-2.
On Friday night at home, Bainbridge lost to Tift County, 78-50. Brannen Greene, who has signed a letter of intent to play at Kansas, had a game-high 36 points for the Blue Devils.
On Saturday night, the Bearcats lost a close 47-40 road decision to the Thomasville High School Bulldogs.
The Bearcats were led Friday night by Justin Baker and Dontavious Marshall, with 11 points apiece. Tyree Crump added nine and Jamez Harris put in five.
Stephen Johnson, who scored four points, hit a free throw with just two seconds showing on the clock to get the Bearcats within 41-35 at halftime.
Tadric Jackson joined Greene in the Blue Devils’ double-figure column, with 19 points.
Saturday night’s game in Thomasville was close throughout.
“We took a lead with 1:33 remaining in the game, but Thomasville hit two late three-point shots to pull out the victory,” Bainbridge coach Rickey McCullough said.
Crump led the Bearcats on Saturday night with 15 points. He was followed by Baker and Tim Shaw with six apiece, Harris with five, Johnson with four and B.J. Cheatem and Marshall with two apiece.
Devontae Wyche led the Bulldogs with 11 points.
