Barring upsets this week, the Bainbridge High School Bearcats will travel to play one of two north Georgia Region 4-AAAAA teams in the first round of the State Class AAAAA playoffs, a week from this Friday.

The winner of Friday night’s homecoming game between the Bearcats and the Lee County High School Trojans at Centennial Field will determine the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds in Region 1-AAAAA.

The third-place team will travel to play Region 4-AAAAA’s second-place team, and the fourth-place team will travel to play Region 4-AAAAA’s first-place team.

Region 4-AAAAA is split into two sub-regions, and each of its teams are in region play-in games this Friday. Barring upsets, Sub-Region 4B No. 1 seed Whitewater should beat 4A No. 4 seed Ola, and 4A No. 1 seed Union Grove should beat 4B No. 4 seed McIntosh.

Likely, Bainbridge (6-3) will then travel to face either Union Grove or Whitewater, who are both currently 8-1.
