Region playoff picture coming into view

The Thomas County Central High School Yellow Jackets and Harris County High School Tigers are both 4-0 in Region 1AAAAA play and will meet Friday, November 9 for the top and second place seed in the State Class AAAAA playoffs.
In another big Friday, October 9 game, coach Ed Pilcher’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats will take on the Lee County High School Trojans.
Both teams have two Region 1AAAAA losses and the game will decide the Regions third and fourth seeds in the State Class AAAAA playoffs.
Lee County’s Kenneth Hurley leads the Region in total yards with 1559. He has 1030 yards rushing, 259 yards receiving and 270 yards in kickoff returns.
Harris County’s Esaias Chapman is second with 1112 total yards and Thomas County Central’s Deondre Cooksey is third with 1081 total yards.
Chapman has 972 yards rushing and 140 yards receiving. Cooksey has 717 yards rushing, 137 yards receiving and 227 yards in kickoff returns.
The Bearcats Terry Lewis is seventh in total yards in the Region with 753. He has 715 yards rushing, 1 yard receiving and 37 yards in kickoff returns.
Rounding out the top 10 in all purpose yardage is Bearcats quarterback Damien Bouie with 542.
He has 517 yards rushing and 25 yards in kickoff returns.
