Lewis, Bouie among region’s top rushers

Two Bainbridge High School Bearcats runners are among the top 10 in Region 1-AAAAA in offensive yardage, according to statistics released this week by Region 1-AAAAA statistician Chip Ariail.
Senior running back Terry Lewis is sixth, with 39 carries for 234 yards, a 6.0 yards-per-carry average, two touchdowns and a long run of 37 yards for a touchdown. He has averaged 78 yards a game.
Senior Damian Bouie, who has divided time between running back and quarterback, is 10th with 36 carries for 157 yards. He has a 4.4 yards-per-carry average, three touchdowns and a long run of 36 yards. He has averaged 52.3 yards a game.
Bearcats junior quarterback Preston Norris is 16th on the region rushing chart after four games, with 23 carries, for 75 yards. He has a 3.3 yards-per-carry average, a long run of 24 yards for a touchdown and a 25 yards-per-game average.
Running back Deondre Cooksey and quarterback Adam Choice of the Thomas County Central High School Yellow Jackets, who the Bearcats will meet in their next game Friday, Oct. 5, at Thomas County Stadium, are first and fourth in rushing in the Region.
Cooksey has 53 caries for 426 yards, five touchdowns and a long run of 18 yards. Choice has 61 carries for 355 yards, six touchdowns and a long run of 39 yards.
