The Decatur County Warriors football and cheerleading league for 6-to-12-year-old youngsters has begun practice at Hutto Middle School’s Sam Burgess Field.

Youngsters whose 13th birthday is before Sept. 1, 2012, are eligible. Practices are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Warriors league president Nathaniel Union says that tutoring and study sessions will also be part of the program, in addition to football work on the field.

“Our program is not only about football and cheerleading,” Union said “We also want the youngsters to do well in school.

“While there is a $20 non-refundable equipment co-pay for all participants, it can be taken care of by donating items for the concession stand.”

The league is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions, which are needed and appreciated, are tax-deductible.

Checks should be made payable to “Decatur County Warriors League, Inc.,” and mailed to Union at “114 Black Jack Road, Bainbridge, GA 39817.”
