Voyles named to All-Tournament Team

Blake Voyles, a rising senior at Bainbridge High School, was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Perfect Game WWBA (World Wood Bat) 18-under national championship baseball tournament, from June 29 through July 5.

Voyles hit for a .550 average and was 11-for-20 with one triple, two doubles and eight singles. He led the team with seven RBIs and scored two runs. His on-base percentage was .571 and his slugging percentage was .671.

Voyles’ The Next Level baseball team, out of Tallahassee, Fla., finished the tournament with three wins, two losses and two ties. Voyles was No. 16 on the All-Tournament Team list in average, and second in RBIs.

The Perfect Game 18U World Wood Bat Baseball tournament hosted 194 teams from all of the United States and Puerto Rico. More than 3,500 ball players participated in this tournament and the competition was outstanding.

Voyles was also scheduled to play in the Perfect Game WWBA 17-under national championship baseball tournament, with Round Trip Baseball club out of Savannah, Ga., on July 7-12. They won their bracket with a record of 5-0-1 and will move into the championship brackets.

Voyles and Gunnar Griffin, a Class of 2013 classmate, and teammate and long time teammate Taylor (Tootie) Wood, from Chattahoochee, Fla., are playing together on this team.

Voyles was also scheduled to travel with the Next Level Baseball Club, out of Tallahassee, to the Perfect Game BCS (Baseball Championship Series) in Ft. Myers, Florida.
