Decatur County Special Olympics is gearing up for the third annual adult bowling event Saturday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Langston-Gray Bowling Center at the Bainbridge YMCA.

If you know a participant age 19 or older who would like to bowl, please contact Johnny Brown at the Georgia Pines, (229) 254-1915. Brown is the adult participant leader on the Special Olympics committee. You may also call Jim Beck, Special Olympics public relations/fundraiser leader at (229) 220-4009.

Each participant will receive a Special Olympics T-shirt, and bowling shoes will be provided at the Center. There is no charge to bowl.

Registration is currently under way, with 45 participants thus far. The deadline for sign up is Aug. 3.
