Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA assistant director and fitness and aquatics director Liv Warren, who has been with the YMCA for 17 years, will be retiring next Tuesday, July 31.
The YMCA will host a reception in her honor Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until noon, in the members’ lounge. All of her present and former students and friends throughout the community are invited to drop by, thank her for all she has done, and wish her well.
Her duties have included teaching aerobics and body conditioning. She also offers personal training on an individual basis.
As aquatics director, she teaches YMCA lifeguard certification classes, supervises life guards and teaches swim lessons and water aerobics classes.
A 1975 graduate of Bainbridge High School and 1979 graduate of the University of Georgia, Warren is also a certified spinning instructor, and certified CPR and first aid instructor.
She began her tenure at the YMCA in December 1995.
“I have worked with and for a lot of great people, both kids and adults, during my time at the YMCA,” she said. “It has truly been a pleasure, and I hope to continue doing some fitness instructing.
“I especially want to thank former director Ken Bailey, who hired me and gave me a chance to become part of the YMCA staff.”
YMCA CEO Adam Schrott praised her for her hard work and dedication.
“I have only known Liv for a few months but she is a great person and an outstanding YMCA leader,” he said.
