Bainbridge High School 2010 graduate and former Lady Cats soccer defender Ashley Edwards has signed a soccer scholarship with Andrew College, in Cuthbert, Ga.

She is now the third member of coach Chip Ariail’s 2010 soccer team to earn a college soccer scholarship.

Whitney Thomas played at Young Harris College and Aubrie Provence played at Middle Georgia College and will play next season at Oglethorpe University.
In 2010, when the Lady Cats posted a 10-5 record, Edwards was team captain, defensive player of the year, and honorable mention All-Region 1AAAA.

“Coach Ariail really pushed me to do my best,” she said. “He was very energetic and supported all the players.”

Ariail praised Edwards for her competitiveness, hustle and leadership in the defensive third of the field during her junior and senior seasons.

“Ashley was always willing to work with younger players and help them improve,” he said. “She was very determined, had strong character and always put the team first.”
