Softball 14U All-Stars advance to state

The Bainbridge Leisure Services Department’s 14-year-old and under All-Star girls softball team finished second in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) District 3 Tournament here this week.
They will now advance to the GRPA state tournament, beginning Tuesday, July 10, at the Earle May Boat Basin.
Bainbridge lost 13-3 to Lee County on Wednesday night in the championship game.
Bainbridge scored all their of their runs in the championship game against Lee County in the third inning. Taylor Jackson opened the inning with a walk and moved up to second when Lindsey Duke was hit by a pitch. Jeri Sloan followed with a triple, driving in both runs. MaCalya Kirkland had an RBI triple in the inning as well.
Tournament play began on Saturday with Lee County defeating Crisp County, 13-1. Bainbridge followed with a convincing 25-2 victory over Grady County. Crisp County defeated Moultrie, 10-6.
