Bainbridge High School Bearcats rising senior right hander Rion Murrah hurled a 3-0 no hitter against the Valdosta High School Wildcats last Friday.

The pitching gem came in a summer league game at the Thomasville High School Bulldogs Bulldog Brawl Tournament.

Bearcats head baseball coach Brian McCorkle said Murrah had outstanding control the entire game and was around the plate with his pitches.

Murrah said he threw all fastballs and curve balls during Friday’s outing.

He won a pitching award for his outstanding junior season at the recent Bearcats baseball awards banquet. As a junior, he posted a 2-0 record and had two saves. He also won the academic award for having a team high 95.75 grade-point average.
