Coach Jamie Ard’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats, the Region 1-AAAA South Sub-Region soccer champions, earned a berth in the Region 1-AAAA championship game with a 3-1 Friday victory over Columbus’s Hardaway High School Golden Hawks, at Centennial Field.

They grabbed a 2-0 halftime lead on first half goals by Emiliano Rivera and Daniel Provence. Emilio Hernandez added a second-half goal to make it 3-0.

D.D. Dudley scored the Golden Hawks’ lone goal, in the second half.

The Bearcats will play the Houston County High School Bears, the No. 1 seed from Region 1-AAAA North, on Tuesday in Warner Robins, Ga., for the region championship.
