The Bainbridge girls soccer team was defeated by Lee County 8-0, in a sub-region game on Friday night, in Leesburg, Ga.

The Lady Cats held the Lady Trojans scoreless until the 20th minute, when a Lee County forward scored from eight yards out following a deflection.

Lee County scored twice more in the first half in the 22nd and 24th minute to take a 3-0 lead.

Bainbridge built a defensive wall until the 61st minute as Lee County connected on a penalty kick for a 4-0 lead. The Lady Trojans wore down the Bainbridge defense late in the game to score four more goals.

“We gave a good effort against a good team, just made too many mistakes on our end in marking resulting in scores,” Bainbridge coach Chip Ariail said. “Senior Brianna Williams had a busy day, making more than 20 saves.”
