Lady Cats bow out in 2nd round

The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats lost to the Forest Park High School Lady Panthers, 60-32, in their second-round State Class AAAA Tournament game Tuesday night in Forest Park, Ga.
“Our kids played hard tonight, just as they have all season,” Lady Cats coach Kelvin Cochran said. “Forest Park is a very good team; they are tall and athletic. We finished the season 17-12.”
Ri’Chana Jackson led the Lady Cats Tuesday with 12 points. Alex Carter and Briana Wade scored five apiece.
The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 17-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Lady Cats bounced back to outscore them 13-10 in the second quarter to pull within 27-17 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Cats 12-2 to take a 39-19 lead into the fourth quarter. The Lady Panthers then outscored the Lady Cats 21-13 in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
The Lady Cats reached the second round with a 62-53 first-round victory over the Richmond Hill High School Lady Wildcats last Friday in Richmond Hill, Ga. Briana Wade led the way with 21 points.
