Diamond Bearcats down Cairo, 4-2

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats moved their overall record to 3-0, with a 4-2 victory over the Cairo High School Syrupmakers on Friday night in the final round of the 2012 Adidas Tri-State Invitational Baseball Tournament, at Bearcat Field.
The Syrupmakers went ahead 2-0, plating single runs in the top of the first and fifth.
A long two-run home run by catcher Blake Voyles highlighted a three-run bottom of the fifth to put the Bearcats ahead to stay 3-2.
An infield hit by center fielder Tate Lambert started the winning rally. He was aboard along with second baseman Brandon Bates, who reached on an error, when Voyles took a 2-1 pitch and blasted it over the right field fence.
The Bearcats added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth. It was scored by right fielder Jake Godson, who singled.
