Twenty BHS students chosen for Troy clinic, honor band

Twenty Bainbridge High School Band students were selected to participate in the 39th Annual Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinic and Honor Bands.
This event was held Feb. 2-4 on the campus of Troy University in Troy, Ala. Students from all over the Southeastern states were in attendance. The honor bands featured instruction by internationally-recognized clinicians, scholarship audition opportunities and concert band performances, as well as the final honor band concerts.
Each student received an Honor Band Performance Medal, along with an Honor Band shirt. This event gives the students an opportunity of exposure to young musicians from all over the South along with providing a great musical experience.
Guest conductors for the clinic included Jody Dunn, Crestview, Fla., Dr. Michael Burch-Presses, Forrest Grove, Ore. and Dr. Frank Tracz, Kansas State University. The Troy University Symphony Band performed for all of the participants on Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. The final honor band concerts were at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4. Parents and friends were invited to attend. Admissions to these concerts were free to the public.
Students selected were: Emily Ward, Lynn Yen, J.D. Poole, Emily Lynn, Tanner Jackson, Taylor Hughes, Jessa Hamilton, Jordan Friend, Stanley Fagg, Alyssa Bardwell, Chris Webster, Clayton Terry, Ethan Martin, Courtney Key, Travis Hunt, Kyle Horne, Zach Godwin, Caleb Ford, Josh Daniel and Kelsey Andrews.
