Illinois sophomore Alexis Burke, a Bainbridge High School graduate, scored a lay-up with 3.2 seconds remaining, capping a 12-point comeback and a 66-65 win for Illinois over No. 10 Ohio State on Thursday.

It was Illinois’s first win over a top-10 team since an upset of then-No. 10 Minnesota in 2003.

“I knew we were down one and we just needed a two, so I just tried to get to the basket,” Burke told the Illinois athletics website. “I was really focused on finishing and getting a ‘W’.”

Burke finished with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor, and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. She also had six rebounds, including two offensive rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 31 minutes of play.
