Lady Cats defeat Thomasville again

Coach Kelvin Cochran’s Bainbridge High School Lady Cats improved their record to 12-5 with a 49-45 Tuesday road victory over the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldogs.

Their first Region 1-AAAA game of the season was last night when they hosted the Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets.

Tonight they will host the Lee County High School Lady Trojans in a Region 1-AAAA game. Tipoff will be at 6 p.m.

Tuesday’s victory was the third of the season for the Lady Cats over the Lady Bulldogs.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, they defeated them 48-29 at home and on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, they defeated them 64-48 in the semifinals of Thomasville High School’s BSN Sports Adidas\Seminole Wind Holiday Hoopfest on their way to winning the Hoopfest championship.

The Lady Cats were led by Alex Carter with 16 points. Ri’Chana Jackson added 15 and Takia Crankfield put in six.

Rounding out the Lady Cats scoring column were Diamond Bouie with five, Khadejah Cooper with four, Briana Wade with two and Jasmin Kelly with one.

“We are playing well as we go into our Region 1-AAAA schedule this weekend,” Cochran said Wednesday morning. “Our defense has been solid.”
