Cochran said that while his team started out slowly, he was proud of the way they turned it on in the fourth quarter.

“We made some turnovers that hurt us early, but we caused some turnovers and converted them into points in the fourth quarter,” he said. “We need to play hard and with intensity the whole game.”

The Lady Cats were led by Ri’Chana Jackson with 12 points. Alex Carter added nine and Takia Crankfield put in eight.

Dominique Davis of the Syrupmaids took game-scoring honors with 14. Keya Reece added 11 for Cairo.

The victory improved the Lady Cats’ season record to 9-5.

They took on Randolph Clay on Tuesday in Cuthbert, Ga., and will face Miller County on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Colquitt, Ga.
