Junior-varsity, ninth-grade teams on hot streaks

The Bainbridge High School junior-varsity Bearcats basketball team defeated the Miller Country High School junior varsity Pirates, 46-28, in Bainbridge on Saturday night, highlighting a run of recent junior-varsity and ninth-grade victories.

The JV Bearcats were led by Dorin Gadsen with 18 and Mez Cochran with 11.

In other action, the ninth-grade Bearcats edged the ninth-grade Pirates, 42-41. They were paced by Tyree Crump with 16 points and Trey Miller with 15. Tavarius Bowens added seven and Devonte Cambell put in four.

In Friday’s games, the junior-varsity Bearcats defeated Colquitt County, 45-34. They were led by Gadson with 12 points. Greg Cooper added eight, Mike Jones and Mez Cochran scored six apiece, Steven Johnson contributed five, Deion Thomas put in four and Frank Bryant and Jarvis Kelly scored two apiece.

 

Earlier games this season

In ninth-grade action, the Bearcats recently edged the Seminole County Indians, 58-55. They were led by Tyree Crump with 20 points. Trey Miller added 12 and Trey Dudley contributed eight.

Rounding out the winning scoring chart were Tavarius Bowens with seven, Malik Middleton with six, Victor Bodison and Derrick Jones with two each and Devonte Cambell with one.

The junior-varsity Bearcats edged Thomasville, 42-41. They were led by Dorin Gadsen with eight and Steven Johnson with seven.

Mike Jones poured in 14 points to lead the Bearcats junior-varsity to a 51-36 victory over Colquitt County. Mez Cochran added eight.

Tyree Crump and Trey Miller combined for 29 points to lead the ninth-grade Bearcats to a 48-47 victory over Seminole County. Crump led the way with 15 and Miller put in 14.

Fiveteen points by Miller and 12 points by Crump led the ninth-grade Bearcats to a 54-32 victory over Lee County.

Steven Johnson poured in 16 to lead the junior-varsity Bearcats to a a 50-35 victory over Pelham.
