Karate students learn from master

Twenty-three students at the Gojo Karate and Mixed Martial Arts Fitness Center got an oportunity to learn from a master Saturday, May 28 at their facility in the old Kmart shopping center.
Master Gerald Murphy, a former kickboxing champion and member of the Karate Hall of Fame, came from Tallahassee, Fla., to give the students a day of instruction.
Walter Lang, a third-degree black belt and owner of the center, said Master Murphy worked with his students on many different areas of kick boxing and self defense.
Among the students working out with Master Murphy were Trayvon Cheatem, Jaheen Cheatem, Alex Washington, Carla Hernandez, Albert Thomas, Dreyshon Scott, Omerion Williams, Jaden Martin, Timothy Do, Trenity Do, Nicholas Johnson, Ashton Peterson, Xavier Brown, and Zaydrine Jones.
Also taking part in the workouts were Kelvin Cochran, Amaci Wilcher, Nicholas Adkins, Davonte Stepaney Aubrey Henry, Clarise Henry, Destiny Henry, Sellissee Henry and Johmerry Henry.
