The Bainbridge High School boys and girls basketball teams will be honored for outstanding seasons next Monday, April 25 at the teams’ annual awards banquet.

The banquet will get underway at 6 p.m. at the BHS cafeteria. Admission to the public is $7.

The Bearcats went 27-3, won the Region 1AAAA championship and earned a berth in the second round of the State Class AAAA Tournament.

They were led by senior forward Devon Baulkman, the Region 1AAAA player of the year for a second consecutive season, a first team selection on The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Class AAAA All-State team and an honorable mention selection on the Georgia Sports Writer’s Association’s Class AAAA All-State team.

The Lady Cats went 21-7 and won the Region 1AAAA South Sub-Region championship. They finished second in Region 1AAAA and earned a berth in the first round of the State Class AAAA Tournament.

They were led by senior guard April Thomas, a first team All-Region 1AAAA selection and an honorable mention selection on both the The Atlanta Journal- Constitution and Georgia Sportswrier’s Association’s Class AAAA All-State teams.
