Grace Christian Academy upper school principal and athletic director Steve Murr has announced that the school is the newest member of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA), which includes 134 private schools throughout the state.

“We were accepted into the GISA on Wednesday, March 23,” Murr said.

The Cougars and Lady Cougars sports teams will be competing in GISA’s Class A Region 3 along with Georgia Christian School in Dasher, Highland Christian School in Valdosta, Randolph Southern School in Shellman, Westwood School in Camilla and Crisp County Academy in Cordele.

Murr said Grace’s Lady Cougars softball team would continue to compete in the Panhandle Christian Conference in the spring while maintaining their mostly non-conference schedule.

“Softball is a fall sport in the (GISA) and that would interfere with our Lady Cougars fall (GISA) volleyball schedule,” Murr said.
