In Thursday’s game at Central’s Jackets’ Nest Stadium, the defending Region 1AAAA champion Lady Yellow Jackets won 10-0, and in Saturday’s game at Centennial Field, the Lady Cats shut out the Lady Rebels 2-0.

The Lady Yellow Jackets built a 6-0 halftime lead with two goals each by Alyssa Denton, Aubree Denton and Kaeci Guyton.

“Facing a strong Central squad, we knew we had our work cut out for us,” coach Ariail said after the game. “Without a doubt they will be the team to beat in the Region. Hopefully we can get healthy, continue to improve throughout the season and finish a competitive force in the end.”

In their Saturday victory over the Lady Rebels, the Lady Cats scored both of their goals in the first half.

Senior forward Bailey Wells put them up 1-0 in the 16th minute when she alertly put back a deflected shot from 8 yards away.

Junior midfielder Charlton Reynolds scored the final goal of the game on a free kick from 20 yards out in the 30th minute.

The score was set up when the Lady Cats were fouled just outside the penalty area on the right side. Reynolds responded with a lofted crossing shot that hit the back left post and went into the goal.
