The Lady Cats scored 25 points in 18 trips to the free throw line. The Lady Yellow Jackets were down 41-31 after three quarters.

The Lady Yellow Jackets bounced back, outscoring the Lady Cats 9-2 at the beginning of the fourth quarter to pull within three, at 43-40.

The top two scorers for the Lady Yellow Jackets were Jasmine Battle with 16 and Bryanna McCraw with 15.

“April Thomas and Bria Harris are two of our team leaders and they really came through with some clutch shots against Central,” Coach Moon said. “April is so quick and opposing defenses have trouble keeping up with her down the court…a lot of our fast breaks begin with Bria pulling down a rebound and getting a quick pass out to April for a layup.”

BHS will host the boys and girls’ Region 1AAAA tournament in its new gym between Feb. 15-19.
