Owens honored for customer service
The Bainbridge College bursar in the Business Office has been honored for outstanding customer service.
Kay Owens of Bainbridge, who has served the college since 1983, was recognized for her consistent dedicated service.
In the presentation Dec. 20 in the Edward D. Mobley Administration Building, BC President Tom Wilkerson presented her an “Above and Beyond” lapel pin and her certificate as Customer Service Employee for November.
Announcing the honor to the BC community, Interim Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Tonya Strickland, who serves as champion for BC’s Customer Service initiatives, congratulated Ms. Owens, noting that her “commitment is evident” in the kindness she shows to people daily and in everything she does “to promote Bainbridge College as a great institution.”
“She is willing to listen to students and help them whenever possible,” Vice President Strickland said, quoting the nomination submitted for the honor. “I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with such a great woman.”
Owens earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in management from Valdosta State University and two Associates degrees that she earned with honors at Bainbridge College. She holds the Associate of Arts in business administration and the Associate of Applied Science in computer information systems.
