27 LPN graduates honored in Blakely

Bainbridge College practical nursing students were honored in a traditional pinning ceremony Dec. 14 at Bainbridge College Early County Center.

LPN Club Chaplain Shana Butler opened the program with the invocation.

Welcoming the audience of more than 200 were Bainbridge College Interim Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Tonya Strickland and LPN graduate Veronica Turner.

Participants recited the Nightengale Pledge led by LPN Club Activities Director Mary Madeline Shattles.

BCEC Director Joan Simpson and LPN Instructor Jeri Kidd presented the class.

Presenting pins to the students were LPN faculty members Rachelle Andreu, Patricia Browers, Andrea Ferguson and Trenise Grimsley, who was recently named Instructor of the Year by the Georgia LPN Association. LPN Program Director Doris Carmichael presented several LPN Club awards, and Mary Glenn Grimes, assisted by Martha Mitchell, made a special presentation to each graduate.

The graduates included, who are listed alphabetically by their cities, are the following:

Cynthia Lofton of Arlington; Bainbridge residents Wendy Broadnax, Teresia Brown, Ashley Connell, Ishna Henry, Tonya Hines, Chasity Sapp, Shirley Scott, Taquandra Leonard Jacobs and Shemeka King; Blakely residents Loretta Cowart, Mary Madeline Shattles, Veronica Turner and Crystan Wimberly; Camela Thomas of Chattahoochee, Fla.; Colquitt residents Shana Butler, Ruth Ann Hicks and Eboni Jackmon; Shundra Menette of Damascus; Daneisha Hill of Donalsonville; Marsha Greene of Early County; Barbara Cox of Iron City, and Thomasville residents Sharonda Clark and Keonna Jackson.
