Harris, Thomas lead Lady Cats to win

Seniors April Thomas and Bria Harris combined for 39 points Tuesday night to lead the Bainbridge High School Lady Cats to a 69-59 home win over the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldogs.
Thomas led the way with a game-high 21 points, and Harris added 18.
The win, which improved the Lady Cats record to 5-3, gave the Lady Cats a season split with the Lady Bulldogs.
On Saturday, the Lady Cats lost 64-60 to the Lady Bulldogs in Thomasville.
“I was very proud of all the girls efforts tonight,” Coach Latreisha Moon said after Tuesday’s game. “They really stepped up their play as a team and never gave up. Thomasville is a very good team. We had to play well to beat them, and we did.”
The game was close throughout.
The Lady Cats trailed 17-12 at the end of the first quarter, but outscored their visitors 23-14 in the second quarter to take a 35-31 halftime lead.
Diamond Bouie,who had 12 points Tuesday night, opened the third quarter with a jumper from the left side to increase the Lady Cats’ lead to 37-31.
The Lady Cats led by just three, 56-53, entering the fourth quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs’ Kemeiuca Spencer was held to just four points after sharing high-point honors with teammate Anybah Brown Saturday in Thomasville. Spencer and Brown scored 10 points apiece on Saturday.
Late in the third quarter Tuesday, Spencer hit two free throws to tie the score 51-51. By the end of the third quarter, the Lady Cats had reclaimed the lead by three, 56-53.
Other Lady Cats scorers were Briana Wade with eight, Ra Shana Jackson with six, and Takeia Crankfield and Jasmine Kelly with two apiece.
