BHS b-ballers tune up with scrimmage

The Bainbridge High School basketball teams tuned up with convincing preseason scrimmage victories over the Early County High School Bobcats and Lady Bobcats Thursday night in Blakely.
The Bearcats, led by returning Region 1AAAA player of the year Devon Baulkman with 26 points, defeated the Bobcats 71-52. The Lady Cats, led by Bria Harris with 16 points, defeated the Lady Bobcats 40-15.
The BHS girls will open their season Monday when they play Berkmar High School from Lilburn, Ga., at 11:30 a.m. in the opening round of the sixth annual Charles Cooper Memorial Tipoff Tournament at Lowndes County High School in Valdosta, Ga.
In the tournament’s second round on Tuesday, the Lady Cats will play the Valdosta High School lady Wildcats at 1 p.m.
On Wednesday, in the tournament’s final round, the Lady Cats will play the Ware County High School Lady Gators from Waycross at 1 p.m.
The Bearcats and Lady Cats will open their regular seasons Tuesday, Nov. 30 against Malone Florida High School in Malone. Their first home games will be Friday, Dec. 3 against Randolph Clay High School.
