Tuesday’s downtown Bainbridge High School homecoming parade featured floats on the theme of “Beclaws the Bearcats Rule,” queens, a king and much more.
The parade, which also featured the award-winning Bainbridge High School Marching Bearcat Band and Air Force Junior ROTC cadets, was led by grand marshal and exceptional education teacher Marie Stapleton, the 2010-2011 Bainbridge High School teacher of the year.
Riding in cars were freshman attendants Taylor Austin and Laura Griner; sophomore attendants Karley Harris and Jada Smith; junior attendants Anye’ Miller and Elleree Guy, and senior attendants and homecoming queen and maid of honor contestants Ivy Heard, Tiandria Burke, Raven Parris and Blair Williams.
The queen will be crowned and the maids of honor honored during halftime of Friday night’s homecoming football game between the Bainbridge High School Bearcats and the Lee County High School Trojans at Centennial Field.
Crowning the queen and honoring the maid of honor will be Bainbridge High School Principal Tommie Howell and 2009-2010 Bainbridge High School homecoming queen Mary Anna Dozier.
Other honorees in the parade were Bainbridge High School homecoming king Shawn Samuels, and outstanding Bearcats defensive back and kick and punt returner, and 2010-2011 Miss Bainbridge Middle School Tameria Levens and Mr. Bainbridge Middle School Henry Kelly Jr.
