Middle School homecoming Thursday

This Thursday will be Bainbridge Middle School homecoming at Centennial Field.
During halftime of the 5 p.m. football game between the Bainbridge Middle School eighth-grade Bearcats and Washington Middle School eighth-grade Tigers of Cairo, the queen and made of honor, selected from a group of seven eighth-grade attendants, will be announced.
BHS Principal Marvin Thomas and Taylor Austin, the 2009 homecoming queen, who is now a freshman at Bainbridge High School, will crown the queen and maid of honor. A homecoming king will also be crowned.
The queen and maid of honor will be selected from among seven eighth-grade attendants. Two eighth-grade young men, Henry Kelly and Tyler Braswell, will be competing for homecoming king.
Eighth-grade attendants include Andrecia Jackson, daughter of Alicia Byrden, Andre Jackson and Samache Jackson, who will be representing the diamond team; Madison Hughes, daughter of Jody and Lisa Hughes, who will be representing the emerald team, and Haley Green, daughter of Don and Carrie Green, who will be representing the emerald team.
Miss Jackson is a member of the chorus, the national junior honor society and the varsity cheerleading squad. She is also an AB honor roll student, and a member of Murkerson Academy’s power tumbling program.
Miss Hughes is a member of the Future Farmers of America, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the varsity cheerleading squad and the youth group at Fellowship Baptist Church.
Miss Green is a member of the Future Farmers of America and she enjoys swimming.
Other eighth-grade attendants are Chelsea Lynn, daughter of Turner and Susan Lynn, who is representing the onyx team; Tameria Levens, daughter of Dionna Akins and Stacey Levens, who is representing the onyx team; Calee Harris, daughter of Regina Harris, who is representing the diamond team, and Tonnee Williams, daughter of Sandra Brown, who is representing the garnett team.
Miss Lynn is a member of the Future Farmers of America and she enjoys showing cows. She is also a member of the youth group at Mount Zion Baptist Church and the Decatur County 4-H Club. She played softball for six years.
Miss Levens attends Nelson Chapel Baptist Church and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plays basketball and is an AB honor roll student. She was formerly a sixth-grade homecoming attendant.
Miss Harris sings with the Bainbridge Middle School chorus and plays the clarinet in the Bainbridge Middle School band.
Miss Williams plays the baritone in the Bainbridge Middle School band and participates in talent search.
The two candidates for homecoming king are eighth-grader Henry Kelly Jr., son of Henry Kelly and Tiffany Kelly, and eighth-grader Tyler Braswell, son of Chad and Rita Braswell.
Kelly is an AB honor roll student who enjoys playing football and basketball. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Braswell is also an AB honor roll student who enjoys playing football and basketball. He also enjoys hunting and fishing and is a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church youth group and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Both homecoming king candidates represent the diamond team.
Seventh-grade attendants include Santerica Thomas, daughter of Terry and Gloria Thomas, representing the pearl team; Rickia Hughes, daughter of Rickey Hughes, representing the sapphire team, and Taylor Bush, daughter of Lee and Lane Bush, representing the topaz team,
Also representing the seventh grade as attendants are Linda Moore, daughter of Jimmy and Jeannine Moore, representing the pearl team; Mallie Rollins, daughter of Reese and Missy Rollins, representing the topaz team, and Kady Kirkland, daughter of Amanda and Bill Kirkland, representing the sapphire team.
