Lady Cougars improve to 12-3

SYDNEY HARRELL, No. 14, of the Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars volleyball team, gets a serve away as teammates Brock Bailey, No. 13, and Emma Heard, No. 5, get into defensive position.

Coach Erwin Harrell’s Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars volleyball team improved their season record to 12-3 and their Panhandle Christian Conference record to 2-0 with a 3-2 Thursday, Sept. 9 victory over the Emmanuel Christian Academy Lady Warriors from Dothan, Ala. at Grace’s Perry Memorial Gymnasium.

After losing the first and second sets 20-25 and 21-25, they bounced back to take the final three sets 25-15, 25-18 and 15-10,

They were led by Brock Bailey with 5 ace serves and 15 kills.

Emma Heard had 6 assists, Melissa Mills had 5 assists and Kendi Castoro had 5 digs.

The Lady Cougars had three players with an over 90 serve percentage which is the goal. Emma Heard led the way with 96 percent and she was followed by Kendi Castoro with 95 percent and Brock Bailey with 90 percent.
