Grace cross country teams perform well

The Grace Christian Academy Cougars and Lady Cougars cross country teams turned in strong efforts at the season-opening Panhandle Christian Conference Jamboree Sept. 11 at the Marianna, Fla., Sports Complex.
Cougar brothers Kyle Harris and Chase Harris were 23rd and 48th in the 5,000-meter boys field in times of 18 minutes, 14.37 seconds and 19:28.61. There were 183 runners in the field.
Rounding out the Cougars finishers were Marcus King, who was 128th in a time of 23:39.52; Taylor McDonald, who was 134th in a time of 24:18.62; Jackson Harrell, who was 162nd in a time of 27:47.38, and Josh Carnes, who was 174th in a time of 30:23.61
Lady Cougars turning in strong efforts in the 5,000-meter, 139-runner girls field were Caylin Walsingham, who was 56th with a time of 24:29; Perra Harrell, who was 59th with a time of 24:53.85; Brock Bailey, who was 81st with a time of 27:34; Rachel Harrell, who was 84th with a time of 27:46, and Ladson Simmons, who was 97th with a time of 29:14.
Also turning in strong efforts for the Lady Cougars were Emma Heard, who was 120th with a time of 33:44; Abbey Smith, who was 127th with a time of 38:19, and Annabelle Smith, who was 132nd with a time of 37:57.
Overall, the Cougars were 14th in a 16-team boys field, and the Lady Cougars were 10th in a 14-team girls field.
