BMS softball finishes season

BAINBRIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL Lady Cats pitcher Brooke Bates throws to first baseman Summer Kirkland for an out during Wednesday's 19-4 victory of the Washington Middle School Lady Tigers from Cairo.

The Bainbridge Middle School Lady Cats softball team completed a very successful season Wednesday with a 19-4 home victory over the Washington Middle School Lady Tigers of Cairo.

The BMS Lady Cats, coached by Marie Brown and Lindsey Jarrett, finished with a record of five wins, two losses and one tie.

The Lady Tigers scored all four of their runs in the top of the first inning to take an early 4-0 lead.

The Lady Cats bounced back with eight in the bottom of the first to take control. Ten straight Bainbridge batters drew walks and came around to score in the inning. Third baseman Grace McIntosh and pitcher Brooke Bates also had steals in the inning.

The Lady Cats added three more runs in the bottom of the second inning to go up 11-4.

The Lady Cats rounded out their scoring with eight more run in the third, with walks and four hit batsmen accounting for the runs.
