Grace teams split games

The Grace Christian Academy Cougars and Lady Cougars split two Tuesday home basketball games with Cordele‘s Crisp Academy Wildcats and Lady Wildcats.

The Cougars, who are 14-19 overall and 4-5 and in third place in Georgia Independent Schools Association Region 3A, won 56-54.

The Lady Cougars, who are14-9 overall and 2-7 in Region play, lost 74-24 to the Lady Wildcats who are 23-2 overall and 9-0 in Region play,

Jack McRae led the Cougars with 24 points and Phillip Bowen put in 17. Game scoring honors were captured by the Cougars Hunter Chambers with 26 points.

Bryce McQuaid missed the game due to sickness and his Cougars teammate Brent Noble saw just limited duty after getting into early foul trouble .

Crisp’s Lady Wildcats, who were led by Kendall Wilson with 20 points, has not lost a Region game in more than two years.

Jasmin Kelly led the Lady Cougars with seven points. She was followed by Hannah Wynn wth six, Shelby Woodrum and Emilee Mur with four apiece and Kelsey Harrell with three. The Lady Cougars trailed 40-16 at halftime.
