Funeral services for Harry W. Williams, 85, of Bainbridge, were held Friday, Dec. 31, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Danny Shepard, the Revs. Paul Medley and Tom Shields officiating.

Interment was at West Bainbridge Cemetery with members of the Baraca Sunday School Class serving as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Williams was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Decatur County, Ga., the son of Harry Bradford Williams and Rosa Neal Brown Williams. He died Dec. 29, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.

He was a graduate of Brinson High School, Class of 1944, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Mr. Williams retired as a shop superintendent for Texaco Oil Company and the City of Bainbridge. He was actively involved in the community as a member of First Baptist Church, V.F.W. Post 4904, American Legion Post 62, and the Bainbridge Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Williams, and a daughter, Sandy F. Perry.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Betty Y. Williams of Bainbridge, Ga.; his sons, Eddie Williams and his wife, Bebe, of Bainbridge, Stanley M. Williams of Bainbridge, Len Floyd and his wife, Sheila, of Bainbridge, and William Floyd and his wife, Nancy, of Tallahassee, Fla.; his brothers, Cecil Williams of Bainbridge and Joe Williams of Roswell, Ga.; his sisters, Hazel Copeland and Helen Dollar Burke, both of Bainbridge; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Jason Williams, Duncan Williams, Russell Floyd, Eric Floyd, Becky Roberts, Sierra Floyd, Michael Floyd and Robert T. Perry Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Bailey Floyd and Jacob Roberts.
