Services for Josephus Douglas Sr., 60, of Thomasville, Ga., were held Saturday, Sept. 3 at Greater Mt. Calvary First Born Church of Climax, with Elder Earl Germany officiating. Interment was in Flea Town Cemetery of Climax, with co-workers and former co-workers of CSX Railroad acting as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Hutto High School Class of 1968.

Mr. Douglas was born Oct. 19, 1950 in Decatur County and died Aug. 25, 2011 at his home. He graduated from Hutto High School in 1968, and graduated from Thomas Technical College in 1970. He was retired in Nov. 2010 after 34 years employment with CSX Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Douglas; his mother Zeduia Beatrice Douglas; two sisters, Betty Jean Brooks and Barbara Ann McCray and one brother Alex Jerome Douglas.

Survivors include his son, Josephus Douglas Jr. and Shaw Douglas of Thomasville; daughter, Seconia Douglas of Thomasville; father Otis Douglas Sr.; brothers, L.C. Douglas of Climax, Otis Douglas Jr. of Gainesville, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
