Funeral services for Sister Betty Ruth “Bet” Jones, 56, of Havana, Fla., were held Saturday, Oct. 24, at Mount Hosea Missionary Baptist Church near Quincy, Fla., with the Rev. Eddie York officiating.

Interment followed in Smith Grove Cemetery in Gadsden County, Fla., with Toney L. Calloway, Robert Bouie, Archie Bouie, Arthur Evans, Ralph Bouie Jr., Damonte Campbell, Freddie Strong Jr. and Frank Bouie Jr. serving as active pallbearers.

Born April 30, 1953, in Quincy, Fla., Mrs. Jones passed away Oct. 20, 2009, in Tallahassee, Fla.

Mrs. Jones attended the public schools of Gadsden County, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Edmond Jones.

Survivors include her two daughters, Deani Lafaye Weston and Shannon Jones, both of Havana; three sisters, Beatrice Lewis of Havana, Kathy Jefferson and Cynthia Bouie, both of Tallahassee; three brothers, Arthur Evans of Tallahassee and Ralph Bouie Jr. and Robert Bouie, both of Bainbridge; a special aunt who helped raise her, Helen Ferguson of Quincy; two grandchildren, three godchildren, numerous aunts and uncles and several devoted friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
